Re: MICROSOFT PRIVATE FOLDER

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

The so-called "Private Folder" is a trojan horse from Microsoft attempting
to setup stupid people to put them in harm's way by misleading them into
thinking they have a secure folder. Most people don't read the "fine print"
but the documents that come with the download clearly state if the phoney
secured folder is copied to another disk or media the data can be read by
anybody.

It's still available by a direct link to the download.

I gather this claims to "hide" the imformation from the hard drive? Does
this employ root kit technology then?
