How do I reinstall Windows XP from scratch without the disk?

I just want to re-start everything from scratch, I don't care if I lose
files I just need to re-start everything. I don't have the disk but my
Uncle has done this before without the disk. He restarted everything
from scratch on my computer. I don't know if he did something from the
F8 command, but how do I re-start Windows XP from scratch??
