Re: already activated xp keeps trying to activate

Further to my previous. I just opened another RDT session with the
offending machine. An another Event Viewer activation required entry
was not created.

Thanks for the suggestion. I performed both procedures last night
locally on the offending machine. Unfortunately, that did not solve
the issue. I just checked the Event Viewer via RDT from home and the
entry is there again. However, I just noted an oddity. The time
stamp of the activation required entry is the same as when I accessed
the machine remotely. Does this help in solving the issue? Thanks!

A previously activated WinXP SP1 (kept current with all updates from
Windows Update except SP2) machine began (after more than a year)
logging events stating activation was required within 30 days. Each
time this event appeared it stated 30 days. I searched the newsgroup
and found your corrective action post for a similar problem. I tried
it and upon reboot I again activated successfully. However, the
"activate within 30 days" event is still beging logged. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try repairing the registry entries for the .DLL files used by
activation.

Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Good luck
