I doubt it.
The upper left is where any icon starts loading on the Desktop.
Upper left and they fill down one column, then the next column to the right,
etc. until the whole Desktop is full.

Is it possible to make certain parts of your desktop unavailable for
icons to be in? For instance is it possible for me to set my desktop so
that when new files are saved on to there (i.e. not dragged and dropped
but created) they will not end up in the lower and upper left? I have
use widgets, and its really annoying when an icon is created behind them.
