Re: Restrictions Message - cannot allow access to my folders

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT In Regedit go to one, or both, of the following Registry keys

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look in the right pane for a value called NoViewOnDrive. If it exists, Delete it. If desired, you can right click the Explorer subkey and select Export to create a backup of this particular Registry key and its values.

I am getting an error message when I try to access my folders:

Restrictions
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator.

However, I tried System Restore, and it did not work. I checked this
message in the web and found 1 post that indicated I should remove Explorer
from my Start menu and replace with My Computer. However I did not have
Explorer, I already have My Computer. Also, I am able to write to my C drive
with my Palm PDA, MS Money and others. I just cannot open my C drive, or
save MS Office files. I cannot open CD's either.

I have XP Professional. Any one that can help I will be much appreciated.
