You are quite lucky that it is working at all.. officially, there is no XP
support for your machine..

It is always a good idea to check with manufacturer websites before
upgrading an OS.. if there is no obvious support for the machine, as in this
case, it is best not to upgrade..

Yeah, there are or so it seems, but they're the ones included with XP, and
that apparently seems to be the only choice. I've tried Windows 2000
drivers. It even shows up in the device manager as 'SIS 530/620' and it
says that the device is working properly, unless it's just using a generic
graphics controller driver and shows it as an 'SIS 530/620'. It must be
good enough as it can detect the monitor's capabilities as far as
resolutions and refresh rates. On an even slower Compaq, a 5304, it uses
the same graphics chipset, and standby isn't even available as on option
at all.

The Sis 530 drivers on a Compaq 5340 (with an AMD Athlon K6 400MHz CPU,
220MB of RAM, & a 4.3GB HD) do not work properly. I cannot go to
standby. I have tried several different drivers from DriverGuide, but
any one that I try to install I see 'Windows cannot find a better match
to your hardware than the drivers already installed' or something along
those lines. When I try to go to standby, it says that the Sis 530/620
drivers are not allowing the computer to go into standby and I should
try updating the drivers. OS is Windows XP Home SP2.
