I am going to do a new complete re-format and install but, first one
question. Do I use the old licence number or the new one from MS and does
this count towards my anti-pirate quota.

If all else fails I think I will install my copy of Windows 2000. At least
that behaved itself.

Use the original code. If 120 days has passed since you last successfully used the original code then it will likely go though without having to call. If necessary do a phone activation again.
