Re: Can I use "run as" on any file

Open Notepad with Admin rights: Start>Programs>Accessories, right-click
Notepad, choose Run as..; then open the file in question. This has worked
for me when logged on as a Power User and a change was needed in the Hosts
file.

What I'm actually doing, trying to save time, and not go into the admin
log on, but instead use the user log on. Here is what I have to do. Find a
file, that I can open in notepad, make one letter change, save it, and
that's all. One several computers, it will not let me save the file,
because of no admin rights to that file. I wonder now, if I can open the
file as a admin, without logging of, save the change, and get out then. I
wonder if the "run as" would work, or if there is another way to get
around that. I of course have the admin rights, have the log on and
password......Thanks.......Peter
