Something odd has happened to my XP system. I'd say it happened after
the Desktop Search function appeared on my machine.
I can't click on a link in the browser. I can't click on a link on the
Start Bar. I can't click links from the Menu. And I can't shut the
computer down without using Ctrl Alt Del.
Also when in Word or any programme that uses Save As, I can't open the
pull down menu to choose a new destination. It pulls down but as soon
as I move the curse the menu closes.
I used the space bar to put a tick in the notify me of replies box as
clicking on it wouldn't work. And probably posting will require a
right click manouvre of some sort... assuming I can post at all! If
you're reading this... then I've succeeded but not by clicking on it.
I can open programmes from the Desktop
Also, I use this machine to edit video. When dealing DVD burning or
capturing, something happens to slow down the computer and corrupt the
the files bringing about errors.
Any idea how to fix any of this?
Since all your problems happened after installing the Desktop Search,
uninstall it. If uninstalling it doesn't put things back to the way
they were, do a System Restore to before you installed the Desktop
Search.
