Thank you.
Unfortunately, the option "I want to create a Wizard Disk in the following
drive" is grayed out. I assume this is because there is no floppy drive in
this laptop.
Any solution?
Thanks,
Erik

I am trying to move to a new laptop. Both are running Win XP Home SP2,
fully
updated. I ran the wizard on the old, and saved to an external USB HD and
then started the wizard on the new and pointed it to the external HD. I
received the message:
"Your migration store was created with a previous version of Files &
Settings Trfr Wizard. Please collect your settings using the current
version
of the wizard. It is available on the Win XP CD. You can also create a
wizard disk by running the wizard on your Win XP computer."
1. Both computers run the latest version of XP
2. I don't have a Windows CD since it did not come with this laptop
(available for recovery on a separate partition)
3. I cannot create a disk since there are no floppy drives any more. No
other options were offered.
Any help? I really need to transfer the data and settings.
Thanks.
Get a USB flash drive (a.k.a. memory stick). Insert that into the
new laptop and tell it to create a FAST wizard disk on it.
Then take the flash drive to the old laptop and run FAST from the
flash drive, saving to the external hard drive as before.
Good luck
