Common Files and Shared DLLs

I ran into an issue with, I believe, shared files/DLLs in my new PC
running Windows XP Pro.
I already had installed Roxio's Easy Media Creator 8. The
Drag-to-Disc feaure is one that I use quite often.
After about a week I received an invitation to install the latest
Google Picasa2 beta - Picasa Web Albums. So I downloaded and
installed it and it also worked well.
After my next reboot, Picasa auto-started very quickly, while
apparently Roxio's various components weren't as quick, because after
Picasa loaded, Roxio's Drag-to-Disc coould not load. Error message
siad that it could no longer find one of the components it needs to
run and to reinstall it. I did, but it still cannot find the component
it needs.
Since the Picasa2 upgrade is the only change I made, I suspected that
it must have replaced a shared file or DLL that Roxio was using.
To test that, I installed Roxio on a notebook, got Drag-to-Disc
working fine, then installed the Picasa2 upgrade. All was fine, so I
rebooted and the issue was replicated. Same problem.
Try as I may, I cannot find out what file was replaced by Picasa2 that
Roxio needs. Looking from the other direction, while Roxio tells me
that it can no longer find the component it needs, I cannot find
exactly which component it can't find!
Can anyone help me to look in the right places to find out what Picasa
replaced, or what Roxio is looking for that it can't find anymore?
I've searched the logs, event viewers, and anywhere else I can think
to look without success.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
