File sharing

XP SR2
Trying to find how to turn on/off file sharing. According to ms support, the sequence is
1. Double-click My Computer on the desktop.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab, and then select the Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) check box

I have no such option under the View tab as "Use Simple File Sharing."
How do I turn file sharing on/off?
