Sounds like you've done right to me. Just go online and download new drivers
from the motherboard manufacturers website. If you want we can help just let
us know what Motherboard you have. ie: make and model. Good Luck

Thanks for the reassurance , I thought I might be on the right track
and had already started to do as you suggest. ( burning upgrades to CD
)
Do I have to alter Bios at any stage??? I'm not very familar with the
blue screen menu and would rather not dive in blindly...!!!

hotshod.

You should not have to modify the motherboard settings in the BIOS in
order to install updated drivers. You will probably have to
reconfigure the BIOS setup if you install a Motherboard BIOS update.
However unless there is a specific reason for doing so (e.g. the BIOS
update fixes a problem that you have been encountering or improves
performance in some significant way) then there is probably no need to
do a BIOS update.

Good luck

Thanks Ron ,
Still a bit confused .......
Originally the M/board drivers would not load from original disc (
would load 40%, then stop with a "Not Responding ").

So if I download new drivers ,from web and install from CD , for M/b
would this not be the equivalant of an update, thus needing Bios
reconfig..???

Another question if may......
When I loaded XP .... I had a multi card reader and 2 DVD drives on the
machine and that meant my local disc drive became ( I: ) instead of (
C: )..... can I change this from the repair option at the start of XP
instal ,..... or am I stuck with it till next format.
