Re: AutoIt.Error with Windows xp pro

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

AutoIT is a (awesome) freeware utility. Probably someone (the friend
that installed the pc) put a little tool on the pc, but didn't take the
time to write it properly, hence the error.

Check in taskmgr which program is running that shouldn't be running
(normally this won't be with local/network service or system account,
but with the user account). Kill the process and see if you still have
the error. Check the startup folder in the start menu, the startup key
in the registry and remove any entries to this tool.

And of course make sure you have a virus scanner, firewall, antispam
program installed :-)

was using my buddys pc earlier today and it has some issues. it
appears that the last user didn't shutdwn properly . when i logged on
as admin. , window "End task" popped up momentarily . was so
fast didn't have chance to read what was running. anyhow after trying
to run firefox it will not open . window popped up on occasion saying
ALERT ! AUTOIT. ERROR LINE O (FILE C \WINDOWS
\SYSTEM32\CTF/FIREWAL.EXE ) THEN GOES OFF ON A STRING OF LETTERS
& NUMBERS. can someone give me insight on what has happened .
looked for system restore or backup and there not in the toolbox. had
another operating system , a barebones XP PRO that was loaded on
another pc i used to run had the same setup. is this problem a need
for a new clean boot . i'm in the learning stages of getting into
programs and sure have the ability to learn more. seems my buddy
thats been loading my friends and my own pc's is making a lil too
much $$$ off us dumbasses. thanks for your feedback .
