This laptop takes forever to bootup.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the bootup process?

Rather than installing a third-party program of unknown provenance, the
OP should troubleshoot the startup issue.
1. Make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

2. If the machine is clean, then do clean-boot troubleshooting to
determine what is starting with Windows:

Clean-boot advanced troubleshooting in Windows XP -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316434
and How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP -

Here are some places to look up the items found starting with Windows:

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm

http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/search.php

If doing all this isn't the OP's cup of tea, s/he should take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not a local version of
BigStoreUSA).
