My computer SONY Vaio PCV-RS420 (2 years old) has been acting strange
lately,
it keeps restarting. Someone here told me i should just disable automatic
restart during error and i did. Errors and restarts took place frequently
(as
many as 8 in a 20 minute span). I finally decided to reinstall windows,
reformatting the drive along with it. While i was installing windows,
errors
still took place.
My CPU has a powersurge/power maintenance(uninterrupted power supply).. so
i
dont think it is a low power problem. I have also tried switching the RAM
and the same thing happens. Yesterday i was updating BIOS on my computer
and
an error took place right in the middle of it.
After that, i pressed the ON/POWER button to turn it back on and nothing
showed up on my screen. The light on my monitor is orange instead of
yellow-green.. almost as if its not getting anything from the CPU. The
light
showing drive activity isnt even lit except for the first 20 seconds after
pressing the power button.
I also tried switching the 1:2 to 2:3 thing close to the power supply
inside
the CPU (the 3-prongs sticking up.. two of them bundled together in order
to
reset BIOS) but still nothing worked.. can anyone help? Is my
motherboard
dead?? Thank you for any help.
