locked out of system windows 2000 pro

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I accidentaly, due to a child error, have been locked out of my system
using Windows 2000 Professional. Apparently, the log in password was
changed and I have no way of knowing what it is now! This is not
good.

I know this is an XP thread, but I have always gotten great advice on
this forum so I figured it is worth a shot.
