Maybe your problem is that of the four versions of Windows 2000, the
Professional version is not a server.
Here's the list:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
Or maybe I didn't understand your question as it was stated.
