Look in the display properties specific to the ATI video.. sometimes, there
is a setting (checkbox) to prevent windows from opening off screen..

I'm having a problem with my new XP computer, which has integrated
video (ATI Radeon Express 200). In the process of browsing the web,
or going into a chat function, a window will come up the bottom of
which I can't see, and there is no way to move the window so that I
can see the entire window. This is particularly a problem if the
part I can't see is the line where you type in chat text.
On my 98SE computer, in every case, the same window is fully visible
at the same resolution.
It's as though Windows, or the ATI driver, or the video "card", is
wrongly calculating how much verticle space is available. The
status bar in IE and the XP task bar are both fully visible, and the
screen as a whole is fully visible on the monitor, but in XP the
window being viewed just doesn't fit vertically. Part of it, at the
bottom, is covered up. As I said, everything fits perfectly on my
old 98SE computer.
Can anyone suggest how I might fix this? I've tried changing the
DPI settings, and the refresh rate, all to no avail. What else
can I try? And, if anybody knows, what would cause this?
I can post a screen capture that illustrates the problem, but I
don't think I can do that in this newsgroup, and I don't have a
website. If someone could suggest a binary group, I could post it
there.
Thanks for any help.
