Did you setup your DNS on the Server?
Are both machines pointing to this DNS?
Can you ping by address?
Can you ping by name?

Hey

I've got 2 computers, one computer with winxp pro and the other computer
has Windows Server 2003

I used to have these computers in a workgroup, but because I want to learn
how to configure Sharepoint. I then decided to create a domain and set my
windows server 2003 to be domain controller....

from the windows server computer I can ping the winxp computer. But my
PROBLEM is that I cannot ping the other way (on the winxp computer I
cannot ping the windows server)

I haven't done any modifications to Lmhosts on the winxp computer

My winXP computer has the firewall that came with sp2 enabled. But while I
only had a workgroup this firewall wasn't any problem... While using
workgroup I could from my winXP computer go into "My Network Places" and
find my workgroup and both computers in it...

I know that I must add my winXP to the domain controlled by the windows
server but before I do that I think I must solve this ping problem...

Any ideas to what I must do to solve this would be greatly appreaciated!
