Re: My legit copy of XP is now telling me its counterfeit

Carey,

My guess is that you have gotten all of your software directly from
Microsoft as the MVP rules state! But for a simple man like myself who
works hard for his money and then decides to go out and PURCHASE all that he
has it would truly pee me off!!! If you were me and some simple peace of
software that was shoved up your arse told you differently wouldn't that pee
you off? Be honest now!!!!!

It isn't like we are only talking about $20.00 or something, no we are
talkign about a $200.00 peace of software here that my lifeblood depends
upon....not counting the $2000.00 PC that it sits on and would be useless
without that so-called good software that it uses to run on. You and Bill
Gates both need to pull your head out of your arses so you can see the
truth.

I am glad I got a heads up and didn't install it on my machines. Oh, BTW,
we are talking about WGA here :-)

"it's just plain user ignorance" and because of that people are paying for
Bill Gates greedy self....why?

No one who has a valid, genuine Windows XP license is getting "ripped
off".
Many users have had an illegal, non-genuine version of Windows
XP installed by someone, be it an unscrupulous repair shop, a "friend",
or the user themselves. There is a specific Microsoft web site that
deals with resolving these issues. It many cases, it's just plain user
ignorance
that led to the problem in the first place.
