Even if there is a Corrupt/hang in a movie cd (Avseq01.dat), I could
Cdsthe whole cd by skipping the error placeI. But could not copy such cd to
Hard disk by `copy' command or `xcopy'. Is there any way to copy such
Ad-awareto
hard disk?
Your kindest most honest response will be appreciated.

No. All new movies are copy protected to prevent exactly what you are
trying to do. If they weren't, every Tom, *** and Harry on the planet
would be making copies and Hollywood would not like that.
The user is playing a VCD, NOT a DVD as evidenced by the
..DAT file extension.
VCD's have NO copy protection that I'm aware of.
However, they are authored using a process that ignores the CRC and
other error-checking stuff built in to data CD's so that there is
effectively
more space on them to store the video data.
This situation is likely causing problems with the copy command.
If he is able to copy other VCD's but not this one, it has a physical
defect you probably can't work around.
Try copying it with a different optical drive.
