This laptop takes forever to bootup.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the bootup process?

1. Make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

2. Don't have unnecessary programs starting with Windows. Always go to
the program's Options first to set this preference. If the program
doesn't give you that option, use the System Configuration Utility:
Start>Run>msconfig [enter]
This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab
and find the programs you don't want to start with Windows. Uncheck the
box next to its name, Apply and OK out. You don't need to restart
immediately, but the next time you do you'll get a dialog saying you've
used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in effect, "don't bother
me about this again".
How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP -

Look up items you find on the Startup tab by either Googling their names
or here are some sites with lists:

If you need more help after you've done the above troubleshooting, see
