I'm trying to help a little old lady that bought herself a laptop and
I'm
gettin tired of running over everytime there is a problem. She is
running
XP Home and I have XP Pro. When she requests remote assisstance
everything starts off the way it should and after she gives permission
I can see her
screen. However there is nothing I can do with the screen and typing
online giving her instructions is pretty much useless.

Help tells me that she can set permission so that I can access her
machine BUT it does not explain how and I could not find any setting.
Anyone know what she needs to do for this to work?

She does have Norton and some anti-spy sweeping program - if may be
what is causing the problem.

It is very simple. On *your* screen from one of the top file menu
listings, there is an option to be able to control the remote computer
(hers). Click it and I believe she'll get another box on her screen
where she has to OK the control and then you'll be able to control her
box.
