That didnt fix it, but it lead me deeper into the mystery. I followed
your link and read the suggestion. I opened IE and stopped it looking
for her homepage. I then went to the manage add-ons as you suggested.
I clicked one of the links for the yahoo bar add-on, it took me to the
yahoo download section. I found this odd as I had not been able to get
even to yahoo.com earlier. So, I was curious and I clicked on the
favorites button, lo and behold it was empty. I know my wife has a
very large favorites folder because I had been using firefox in her
account to post to this site to get help and had seen her favorites in
firefox.
My assumption now is that IE is either corrupt or infected. I have run
a couple of virus scans and found nothing. Is there a way to reapir or
uninstall/reinstall IE by itself? As I said before, I checked IE in my
user account and it works fine.
