A little while ago, I got annoyed that WM would keep starting up when not
wanted, so I took the advice of some tech site and made some registry
changes to prevent it from opening, automatically.

The problem is now it won't open at all, even if I directly attempt to open
it. So, I uninstalled it though the Windows components option of the
Add/Remove Programs control panel and downloaded the install program from
Microsoft.

But even after re-installing, Messenger still won't open.

What can I do?

Just download it and re-install it.
