Re: MMC unable sav a snap-in

What is consul? And in what language?

The word you want is console.

Device Manager Snap-in fails to initialize
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/devmgr.htm

[[CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the PATH environment variable does not include
the %SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM folder.]]
See
RESOLUTION

"Snap-in Failed to Initialize" Error Message When You Open Microsoft
Management Console
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826282

[[SYMPTOMS
When you try to start Microsoft Management Console (MMC) with a snap-in on a
Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, MMC may not start and you may receive
the following error message:

MMC cannot open Snap-in Name. This may be because the file does not exist,
is not an MMC console, or was created with a later version of MMC. This may
also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.

Note In this error message, Snap-in Name is a placeholder for the name of
the MMC snap-in file, such as Compmgmt.msc.

CAUSE
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
* You configure the user of the %APPDATA% folder or you configure the system
environment variable to point to a location that is not available, such as a
network
* The Offline Files feature is turned off on your Windows XP-based computer.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, turn on the Offline Files feature on your
Windows XP computer. For additional information, click the following article

Same error: MMC it is not to open the file Probably the file does not
exist or has been created from a successive version of MMC and also
possible that sufficient rights are not possessed in order to open the
file.
And when I create a new MMC consul and I save it: Error impossible to
save the consul.

Windows XP Gold and SP1

It seems that I have lost the capability to bring up the Device Manager
from the Hardware tab of My Computer properties. When I try to do this,
it says, 'Microsoft Management Console- The selected file cannot be
found'. Any help here as to what has happened and how to correct it?
Unable to save a MMC console file, when I create customized Console

Thanks in advance
