Re: windows update notification shield

Doug - Should'nt I be able to get to the update site by double clicking
the
update notification shield? I realize I can go to the update site
directly -
but when something isn't working right I like to fix it.

Months and months ago( or it might have been a couple of weeks)
since I last clicked on the yellow shield, and I think that this immediately
presented me with a window showing how many items to download. I don't
remember it taking me to the download/update site. There could not have been
a choice, because for months and months(or was it last week) I always always
go via Start.
Then I get a choice of what I want to download.
Sorry to be so vague

PS
Yes, we can only hope MS get their act together - my faith in their
abilities have been considerably eroded over the last 12 months.
For others, much longer no doubt.
