Hi
I have been using Windows XP for the last 1.5 years without such
errors.
Suddenly the above error with the BSOD has started appearing.
1.I havent upgraded not have I added any new device.
2.Earlier when I got this error I was able to boot into XP.There were
some more problems like crosslinked clusters etc and I had to format
the C:/ drive. I formatted and reloaded XP.
The basic windows setup went fine and I was able to boot into a basic
XP desktop.
Then I installed the Intel drivers for sound/graphics for my
motherboard. This also went fine.
I tried to configure my internet connection but could not do so. I
restarted the Pc and this error ocurred
3.Now it directly presents me with the F8 booting options screen but
does not boot into any of the options
4.I have run memtest in linux and there were no problems
5.I can run Linux from the same harddisk partition and it runs just
fine.
Questions
1.I have 2 hard drives. Could this be a problem although the 2nd HDD
has only linux.
Would disconnecting one help
2.My HDD disk on which this problem is arising has developed bad
sectors. I ran scandisk from a w98 bootable cd. Could this be a
problem.
3. This version is plain XP without SP1/SP2 etc
4.How come Linux does not report any probleme runs smoothly.
I am now trying to boot into the system through an W98 cd and trying to
do restore from command line
Any suggestions are welcome.
Please help
Thanks
Ninad
