Re: Spybot / ERUNT conflict? Is my Spybot OK?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

And remember, if the O/P has "disallowed" the registry change - he is
probably safe. Spybot Tea Timer is doing as planned, issuing a warning and
asking for an action.

c:\windows\is-ecsrc.exe /reg has nothing to do with ERUNT.

ERUNT is ERUNT.EXE and NTREGOPT.EXE if you got that with ERUNT. Either of
those only run when you start them.

A Google Search for is-ecsrc.exe turns up nothing, a good indicator that
is-ecsrc.exe is probably malware.

A Google Search for InnoSetupRegFile confirms that is-ecsrc.exe is
probably
malware.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Update whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might need to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and
anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

In news:uDUvVhXbGHA.4892@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
xyz <xyz@xxxxxxx> hunted and pecked:
Spybot generates a corrupted popup, that I do not understand, whenever
the
registry changes. See screen print below. Is Spybot trying to undo ERUNT
(which I also just installed)? There was a second, brief popup to the
effect that Spybot's attempt to "do something" was denied. Does this mean
all is well? And what is the screen print below saying, that something
will be done, or that something has been observed?

Also, my Spybot Immunizaton Database has been downloading for hours. It
is
not the normal download with a timer, so I have no idea what is going on
with it.

Should I try downloading Spybot again, perhaps? :(
