Thanks Drew, it worked. I disabled "Offline Files". When I rebooted, the
computer asked me to run checkdisk again which I did. Checkdisk fixed
numerous ploblems, and when I rebooted again, I booted normally with no
problems.
Thanks again

Frank,
Try disabling 'Offline Files'. Open My Computer > Tools > Folder Options

Offline Files tab. Re-enable if you use this feature.

After updating Windows XP Pro on 4/29/06, my computer boots up to run
scandisk utility which I ran. The computer still boots up to run
scandisk
and when I select to not run scandisk each time, the computer will boot
to
the user sign in and another dialog message box saying "The file or
Directory
\Windows\csc\csc0.temp is corrupt and unreadable". I click "enter"
twice,
once to log in and second to say ok to the corrput file. Then, I can
run
Windows OK.
What can I do to have the computer boot up normally without this
problem?
