I have windows XP Pro SP2 and I can't see javascript on my computer

conclusion it has to do with win xp pro sp2 as I have win xp pro sp1

with win 2000 and I can see javascript.
I installed the latest sun java and it freezes the IE 6 browser I have
Suns J2SE Runtime enviroment 5.0 update 5 installed
I have enabled jave in IE and I have cleared the cache
I have no idea what else to do Please help as I'm at my wits end with
this problem going on for 3 months now.
Thanks (I should just scrap Microsoft Products as I have nothing but
problems with them. I used to use OS/2 No flaws or crashes and I have
tried Linux and seems to work well.)
Java and javascript are different animals. Difficulties running either
one have nothing to do with SP2. SP2 has been out for nearly 2 years
and since everybody else can run javascript, something is wrong on your
machine. You probably have some third-party software that has blocked
javascript. Since only you can see what you have installed, you will
need to examine any security programs - antivirus, "internet security",
firewalls, antispyware programs, etc.
Do the problems exist if you try a different browser such as Firefox?
Certainly you can try Linux, but this is not a newsgroup about that.
