Help!
I have Window XP Pro installed
On starting comp BSOD came up and mentioning Physical Memory Dumping .
so I closed the computer.
On resatrt ,on LKG, it says following file is corrupt
C;\windows\system32\config\system
What to do .I am small man to comp.
1) How to start computer with same system as I have lots of file to
save .Reply In detail?
2) Do I have to reinstalled Win XP
If yes then how to save files?
3) How Can I do partition now?
4)

(If the system hive is corrupt, and assuming you already tried LKG, It
may be
possible to rename the system hive found in
%windir%\system32\config\system
to system.old
then rename
%windir%\system32\config\system.alt
to
%windir%\system32\config\system )
It was for Win 2000 System.Alt file is there but in XP there is no
System.alt file to rename.what to do ?

Install the drive in another XP or Win2k computer as a slave drive and
copy off the important data.
Then see this article for how to recover from a corrupted registry:

Starting"

After the system is repaired take a look at this:
