Ok great. Thanks for all your help.

If the motherboard is new, and as long as you buy a case that it fits in
you should be good to go. Like I said earlier the "MicroATX" is a SIZE
issue. If you have a regular sized motherboard and you buy a MicroATX
case, it isn't going to fit. It has nothing to do with whatever
oprerating system you have. Windows XP is involved at all.

Well, my motherboard is new, well everything is new except case, HD, and
optical drives. My Mobo and case are barely compatible, but the case is old
and the system panel connector wires go in a straight row, but the pins i
have to connector are on two rows and are not next to each other. Like I'll
have the first 2 pins on the bottom row that are for my HD LED light, then
skips 3 pins and i have my power on and reset pins, and then the first 3 pins
on the top row are for my power LED light. to sum all that crap up, im only
connected to my power on and wrongly to my HD LED, but i cant help that part.
Hope that wasnt too confusing. http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/t103012.html
<---- That site will show you my system panel connector. and i can only get
the far left side on the bottom row. Hopefully that'll give you a better idea
of what im saying. If not then, I'll go ahead and buy my new case, and hope
that the connectors wires will be separate. At least thats what I see and
hear.

Hard to tell what you are doing. If your motherboard and the case are
not compatible, who knows. Windows is not picky about the case, but if
you have an old incompatible motherboard and BIOS, Standby certainly
won't work as intended..

Ok... Ive heard that the case cable connector for my power button, if its not
connect exactly right might cause it. and it is not connected exactly because
my connector cant connect to all the pins for the HD LED or the power on LED.
Could that be a reason since the case is 4 years old?

MicroATX is a "size" related issue.

Well i hope someone can respond to this very soon because im buying a new
case... If my case was not MicroATX compatible, would that cause standby and
other power function problems? Please give me a response soon so i can order
my case.
