First of all, there would be very, very few reasons *not* to install Service Pack 2. Were I you, I'd get a second opinion; your friend sounds like nothing approaching an expert to me, unless he was able to give you sound technical reasons that you simply didn't bother to relay.


Unfortunately, Automatic Updates, which I have since switched to to "Notify me, but don't automatically download or install them" has downloaded Service Pack 2 and every tike I start my laptop, it pesters me about installing Win Service Pack 2. How do I get automatic updates to delete what it has downloaded and to QUIT PESTERING ME!!



Install it.
