Call Hotburn tech support. They may have a patch they have to snail-mail to you
on cd. (Damn .NET FRAMEWORK for Hotburn!!!)
Uninstall Hotburn and see if your drives will play a cd again.

okay first I have a Mitsumi cd-rom FX4831T!A (came with the Gateway)
and I had someone to install the Liteon DVDRW LDW-811s. Neither drive
will burn, Mitsumi will play cd but when blank is put in it spins,
then stops, then spins and then stops. (I tried 3 different brands of
cd) The Liteon want play anything it spins and then stops and spins
and then stops. I've tried to delete upper and lower filters but only
found lower filters, I tried downloading firmware but to no avail
nothing. (I think I did it right) I tried uninstalling the liteon
program and install it again but nothing. I've tried to to change the
mitsumi to slave and liteon to master but nothing.(should I have
moved the IDE cables to the different drives when I did this??Number
one I'm not good at computers internally so I think I'm lost but with
some guidance I think I can get this together. I just install Hotburn
and it didn't recognize my drives to burn anything but showed the
screen to test both of them, but when I try to burn nothing is been
detected. Please I have a bald HEAD and I'm still losing my hair.
Please help someone.
