Dr. Indera,
1. actskn43.ocx or one of its components is not correct or registered
actskn43.ocx doesn't seem to be malicious and is also not a Microsoft file.
What program is complaining?
2. crashrpt.dll is missing, corrupt or is the wrong version
"The CrashRpt.DLL works like the new Dr. Watson utility that ships with XP."
CrashRpt.DLL does not seem to be a Microsoft file either.
Sounds like something I'd get rid of. Why you'd need another program trying
to fight Dr. Watson is beyond me. ;-)
What program is complaining?
import.dll
import.dll is not a Microsoft file either.
What program is complaining?

oops, i forgot to say that in my other posts. i did uninstall spycatcher
and went into the registry and deleted the folders that i saw for it.
i also deleted the entries in the startup folder.
i have the software that you listed installed, except for hijack this,
but i will install it.
is there a software package that will point out entries in the registry
that are from software that has been uninstalled?
i will read the links about spycatcher. thank you. i get the feeling that
they don't contain anything positive about the software.
if so, that's scary because i read about spycatcher in the computer
shopper magazine and they said they picked it and removed spybot for
their list of 50 downloads.
when i resolve this, i will post back.
thank you.

Dr. Indera,
Before you consider a Repair Install, you might want to consider
uninstalling SpyCatcher Express. I never even heard of it until your
post.
You might want to read these from CastleCops...
SPYWARE IN SpyCatcher Express 2006 4.0.4 ? (Score: 1)
http://castlecops.com/a6380-SPYWARE_IN_SpyCatcher_Express_2006_4_0_4.html
I would strongly recommend getting rid of SpyCatcher Express!
I would recommend any and all of the following free programs.
Download, install, run, update and run again. They are all
good, FREE utilities. Make sure you update every program, even if you
just downloaded it. You must have the latest updates. Without updates,
you have a gun without ammo. You also need to use more than one
anti-scumware program. One program will *not* catch everything.
1) SpywareBlaster
[[SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from
ever being installed.
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And
SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.]]

hi joe,
i just remembered that i created an image less than 24 hours before i
installed that spyware software.
should i just restore the winnt folder from the image?
the reason i ask is because i created and modified a lot of files since
the image was created
and have created/sent emails, which i don't want to over write.
please advise.
thank you.

If you have a System Restore point for a date before you made the
changes, use System Restore.

hello,
in an effort to make sure that i don't have spyware on my computer,
i installed spycatcher express
(http://www.tenebril.com/consumer/spyware/spycatcher-express.php)
it said that i had 20 items that should be removed.
not thinking i removed them instead of quarantining them.
when i rebooted, i got the following 2 errors messages when i turn
the laptop on:
1. actskn43.ocx or one of its components is not correct or
registered
2. crashrpt.dll is missing, corrupt or is the wrong version
i typed in actskn43.ocx in google and found the file, installed and
registered it because that's what the instructions said to do, so i
don't get that error anymore.
i found the crashrpt.dll file and copied it to winnt/system32
the instructions didn't say to register this file so i didn't
now when i boot, i get this error:
cannot find import dll may be missing, corrupt or wrong version
file crashrpt.dll function "AddFileEx" (error 6)
i went back and found import dll and copied it to winnt/system32
the instructions didn't say to register this file so i didn't
i still get the error
cannot find import dll may be missing, corrupt or wrong version
file crashrpt.dll function "AddFileEx" (error 6)
i'm stumped now and i don't want to make things worse then they
already are, so i'm turning to the experts for advise.
