Don't put words in my mouth.
Some does equal all. Some does not equal most.

When was the last time you purchased a piece of hardware?
I purchased about 470K this year so far, and most of it came with
applications other than drivers that included EULA's that I could not
read before purchasing the device.
Yes, but as Manny so helpfully pointed out, most of those applications are
shareware or demo versions that come with the hardware you purchased.
Meaning that you open the software, install it, see if you like it and
read the license if you care to, THEN and only then do you pay any money
for it if you want the full version. Besides, the fact that you get the
software with the hardware that you purchase, means you are purchasing the
hardware, NOT the software that comes with it. So that is an invalid
arguement because you are purchasing the hardware not the software that
comes with it.
You may think that a OEM computer that comes from one of the big OEMs like
Dell with XP is the same, but it's not, your price for XP is rolled into
the cost of the computer. You don't get a shareware version that you can
try and read the license before spending money on it.
