The easiest way to determin the hotfixes that are correctly installed is to
download the free program called the Belarc Advisor. It will give you an
accurate assessment (inventory) of all hardware and software installed on
your computer, including versions, and with the later MS software the key
that you are always misplacing. I carry the program on a USB Flash Memory to
use on house calls for the Computer Club. Then I know what I am working
with.
To answer your question, some hotfixes will absorb (and remove) previous
ones. Just do a Windows Update (Start> All Programs> Windows Update). If any
are missing, it will download the necessary ones to have your computer
up-to-date. Then run the Belarc Advisor and print the results.

Out of interest I tried to list all the hotfixes on my system and I
find that there is no information on 46 hotfixes at all. It simply says
something like:
[01]: File 1
[02]: File 1
....
....
[45]: File 1
[46]: File 1
[47]: Q147222
[48]: M886903 - Update
[49]: S867460 - Update
....
....
[93]: KB911927 - Update
[94]: KB912919 - Update
[95]: KB913446 - Update
Does this mean that the monthly updates simply overwrites previous
month's updates?
The command I used is:
systeminfo > MyList.txt
This command tells me everything about my system and writes a file
called MyList.txt for me to read it properly.
Thanks.
