I had a problem where if I was to run task manager or regedit.exe both
programs would close automatically in < 2 seconds. I narrowed this down
to a process I picked up today from visiting a website. The website
offered me popups but SP2 showed me the yellow bar at the top. I just
tried to close internet explorer, but I had to end task on it. This
seemed to install the process winupdaters.exe. After using process
explorer I was able to quit this task, delete the file from
c:\windows\system32 and search and remove all entries in the registry.
Problem is I unsure of any other side effects it may have.

I tried Nod32, Symantec and Sophos A/V, also Spyware Doctor, Ewido,
Spybot and Adaware but none of these programs picked it up.


Ideas would be welcome.
