Right-click drag from Programs menu to Desktop


Perhaps someone here could provide either a solution, or direction to a more
appropriate newsgroup. It's an unusual problem I've not run into before.

If an icon in the Start, Programs menu is right-clicked, the context menu
appears as normal, and copy then paste to Destop works fine.

However, if right-click drag and drop is attempted to the Desktop, nothing
happens, and no Context Menu is presented on release of the right mouse
button. When right-click is held and the cursor is moved, there is no
evidence the icon is being operated-on at all.

This sounds like an OLE-related Registry key is missing. Not other drags and
drops are affected, only anything in the Start Menu.

Anyone got any ideas, or suggestions?
