If I am hearing you correctly, you have a case of apples and oranges.

Outlook Express is only a mail client.
These links you are talking about are mailto: links.
Their function is to launch whatever mailclient you have set as default and
compose an email.

I am going to assume that you use yahoo with the web browser interface.

Since the basic function of this kind of link calls for a mail app and not a
web link this leads to the undesired behavior.

I don't use Yahoo myself, but here is an option that may help you.
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/ext/ext-09.html is a mail app that
redirects to yahoo mail for apps like word and ppt.

Alternately you can purchase Yahoo mail plus and get pop access. Then you
can use Outlook express to access your yahoo account.

There may be more option, check Yahhos help site for more information.

On a separate but related topic, these mailto: links are a sign of poor web
development. Anyone with a commitment to ecommerce knows that mailto: links
equal a poor user experience. Anytime you find a site with this mechanism
rather than a web based form you can deduce that they are either trying to
make the process harder , they hired a cheap web developer, or are just
inept at user communication.

When I am on a web page...and, suppose I would like to click the hyperlink
to
"send mail"...

How do I PREVENT Outlook Express from popping up?

I wish to have my mail...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx instead!!!

In other words, when I click the mail tab to send mail from any webpage, I
desire my default mail...flk2575@xxxxxxxxxxxx to pop up.

How can this be accomplished?

Thank you.
