The "quick replacement" method requires proof of purchase documentation. A fire that destroyed the keys, would likely have destroyed the sales slip also. Hence the recommedation to submit the claim to your insurance to get the items replaced.

Hi, Thank you for the quick reply, i have not been able to install the windows or office software as i need the key for the installation. my college has kindly lent me a copy under the campus licence while i am studying OCR Level 2 ICT Support Systems. As we all know....the software is not cheap and the disk are no good to use while i lost the serials, i did forget to mention that the serials were lost due to a house fire along with many other items, many thanks, Adeeâ„¢

Codes are not embedded on the disk. If you have a running XP setup
with Office, you can run a software inventory tool that will display the
original Product Key strings.
If you do recover the data - I'd take a little time to write it down or
save it somewhere. As the label clearly states "Do not loose this....".

I have also lost my genuine serial keys to my Microsoft XP and office disks.
I have the genuine holographic disks still and they have a reference code
upon them. I have tried reading on the internet to see if there is any way to
recover this information from the disk but to no avail.
