An Open Letter To Microsoft, And Its News Server Ops.

I was wondering if you are still involved in overseeing the Windows XP
General group. In the past week-and-a-half or so there has been the
blanket pulling of all of my posts on two separate occasions. It
seems like somebody at the server maintenance level has some vendetta,
and it is just silly.

On my own, I'm hardly a disruptive force in the group, but since this
nonsense has begun, it has been disrupted. I am only one man with my
own opinions, and when compared to the behemoth that is Microsoft, I'm
just one voice in a sea of voices that are overwhelmingly pro-MS, but
by this making of an example out of me, it does bring my opinions to
greater attention than they would have normally.

In the past, I've gotten used to someone running the newsgroups not
appreciating a particular joke of mine and pulling it off the server,
and I've found it to be amusing, and it helped me to add content to my
web site, but this latest nonsense is just sad. Nothing really
changes, as I still keep posting, and people still respond to me, and
my posts are all archive via Google, so in the long run, nothing
changes, except that people see with their own eyes the Big Brother
nature of Microsoft, and that is the doing of whoever is pulling my
posts en masse, not by me.

I am not a troll that is just screwing around with a group of people.
I am a man with my own opinions, and with a somewhat strange sense of
humor. The blanket removal of all of my posts doesn't detract from my
opinions at all, but it does tend to lend them more credibility, as
most people tend to ask themselves why MS would waste any effort on
me, if my opinions didn't have the ring of truth to them.

MS can do anything it wants with its servers, and I understand that.
But just because it can, doesn't mean that it is in its own best
interests to do so.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
