Please provide the exact error messages.

Now on the other hand, why aren't you downloading the apps from their
respective sites. Getting software from the creators site is not only more
trustworthy, it's much more trustworthy that you will get the most recent
app/files.

Hey,
I just bought a new maxtor 100gig harddrive and had no problems
installing
it in the computer...Basicly i want to install XP pro on this new drive
and
transfer all my files from my old drive (also XP pro OS) onto the new
drive
then i want to use my old drive for a Linux OS. Anywayz i was able to
install
XP pro on the new drive and everything went smooth i then connected to
the
net and went straight to windows update and got all the latest patches
including sp2...but then i went to download.com and got AVG antivirus and
also adware SE and Firefox mozilla...but each and everyprogram would not
open
or unzip...sorry im at work and cant exactly remember the error messages
as
they were different for each program...so i thought i might have got hit
with
a virus right away so i reformatted the harddrive again and installed xp
and
went to download.com first to get avg antivirus but same problem
happened...(for avg it says the files are corrupt and you need to
reinstall a
fresh copy) o yea and everytime it would stall on installing/opening up a
program my computer would beep...your help will be greatly
appreciated...if
exact error message is needed ill post later in the day...thanks

Thanks, daz
