Hi,
The RPC locater service depends on the workstation service, check that it is
starting properly. It may also help to set the first failure action on both
to restart the service, as there is some interdependency there. Check also
the system event viewer for clues.

Got this message from my user's laptop after logging into the computer:
"RPC
Locator has encountered a problem and needs to close." Thought it was a
replication issue with our DC but it turned out not the case.
XP SP2
