Unfortuntuatly, you do not understand what a troll is. A troll is
someone that incites a newsgroup to respond to the original post
and never replies to any of the replies.
Wrong, a troll may do the above, but they also seek to stir up a
group in any manner they choose.
Ah, then by your definition I'm not a troll either. I don't stir
up any group. Though I do suspect that some certain individuals
get stirred by what I write.
Did I not say welcome back? If not make this a formal welcome. You
do stir the pot, and so far no one can dispute your claims. 8-) You
do hedge on the fact you have to lie to gain activation beyond what
MS deems as in compliance with the EULA, but it is easily done, and
in many examples even justified due to extenuating circumstances.
The lie is:
"The only information required to activate is an installation ID
(and, for Office XP and Office XP family products such as Visio
2002, the name of the country in which the product is being
installed)." - http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/activation_faq.mspx
If the above statement were true, then no End User would have any
opportunity to lie, as why would anyone want or need to lie about the
installation ID?
Why don't you get on MS's case about their lies when it comes to
activation?

Good idea, do you have any plan how I could achieve this revelation to
unload on Microsoft's marketing venue? I would love to express my
parallel sentiments about how Microsoft markets their products.
Unfortunatently, they do not offer a conduit to express this very
valuable user feedback. They have an ostrich mentality, that will
unfortunately bury not only their heads, but the entire company.
LOL! Only when the din of criticism is nearly universal does the Sleeping
Ostrich awaken and changes its course.
Until then MS needs to be continually kicked in the ass!

My post came off much harsher than intended (should have added a smiley),
but I do think MS marketing is shooting themselves in the foot by not
offering a reasonable priced multi-system home version license.
With the advances user friendly Linux distros like Linspire and Ubuntu have
made, MS should be worried. There are not many usability problems in the
comparable Linux software now available. Almost all applications available
to Windows is mirrored by a comparable Linux application. It is still not as
user friendly, but not far off.
This is something Apple has not been able to achieve and makes them a viable
but lesser threat.
