Phantom program runs for a second

Hi people.

I'm having an issue with a program that seems to run for a second, then closes immediately. It pops up in my taskbar and disappears again before I can see what it is. If I'm playing a game at the time, it boots me to desktop whenever it happens. It does it seemingly randomly, maybe once every five minutes sometimes, other times an hour goes by.

Is there a way to get a logfile that shows what programs launch when? I can't get a screenshot of it, or find it in task manager because it's only there for a second, and might take ages to watch for.
