What type of crash would it be. battery related, hard drive related or motherboard related?

VERY strongly suggest you make sure you have
a backup copy of your important work (amazing the
number of people who have years of work on one
disk with no backups -- the screeching is horrible
when it crashes !!)

my laptop has never had any problems until a few hours ago when i
suddently
lost most of my battery, I went down from 100% to 7%. All I was doing was
opening a word document. It started to charge fine, and got to about 100%
again, when the light on my laptop switched from orange to green telling
me
it was charged. however, it switched right back to orange and when i
looked
at the power information, my power had gone back to 0%. Right now, its
still
on the orange charging light and occasionally turning off and turning
orange
again. The thing that makes me wonder what problem I am having is that my
computer is responding as if it was fully charged yet the battery meters
both
say 0%. I will be taking it to the store tomorrow, but I just wanted to
know
if anyone knew what i should do before hand.
Thanks and sorry for the long post!!
I think he means the screeching of the person who found they lost their oh so important data and didn't have a backup.
