I will. I'm waiting for extensions to be updated and so forth. If
there are any bugs I want them to be worked out. Unlike Microsoft,
Mozilla org. cares about the fruit of their labor, so to speak. They
actually want their browser to work well and it shows. The only
reason IE 7 is showing up isn't because Microsoft wants to lavish a
well functioning...not!... update on us all. It's because they are
being outdone by Mozilla.org.
Competition helps everyone especially the end user. Of course Microsoft is
responding to Firefox. It's an excellent program. We all benefit from this.
Hopefully both will survive and the competition continues to improve both.

It isn't competition in the traditional sense. Microsoft sells their
browser, bundled up in their OS. Mozilla org. is open source and relies
on donations. That right there should be obvious to everyone who makes
the better product. To give it away. That's a great marketing strategy
that a lot of program developers are using to gain interest in their
products; give away a fully function, completely useful and productive
lower end version of a higher end program. If they didn't care about
what they were doing and were incompetent they would disappear rather
swiftly.
There's sides and views to everything but "the proof is in the
pudding". Mozilla/Firefox is the proof of good things and good
intentions. I would be praising IE if it were worthy...and if I didn't
know the tactics of Microsoft. But all I know is I love the M/F browser
and it actually has saved me money. Let me explain:
You see, M/F uses caching technology to improve page loading. This is
similar to what some ISPs sell with their subscriptions know as web
accelerators. I am stuck with DUN (dial-up networking) for the time
being and my ISP rents a web accelerator to improve the performance of
web browsing using Internet Explorer. Since discovering Mozilla/Firefox
and committing to it I have been able to discontinue the rent of my
ISP's web accelerator service saving me the cost of it. I still get
much faster web browsing using M/F than using IE and there is no fee
for using the built in caching feature of M/F.
While I'm at it...since I'm all warmed up now...I love the ability to
use differing themes that change the appearance and button styles of
M/F. There are literally hundreds of themes a person could choose from.
everything form default to Halloween style and in between. My current
absolute favorite theme is FormalGnome 1.5.0.2. I love the button style
and the color...I'm very partial to turquoise and aqua. I also love
that I can do so much more configuring to make the interface so much
leaner and cleaner. Saving files...or backing up files...such as
bookmarks and such is so much easier, too.
